Garden Marquee Hire
The joy of getting married in your natural habitat is that you already know why it's perfect, you might just need a little help bringing the vision to life. Planning a marquee wedding in your garden can feel like a daunting experience and can open up a few more logistical challenges than getting married at a traditional venue, however our experienced team know exactly what's needed to curate an event that runs effortlessly, beautifully and in keeping with it's environment.
Garden marquee hire with Parlour will always involve an in-person site visit to assess your surroundings, identify any potential barriers and help you truly visualise the sailcloth in place. Our planning and design service can assist you further with gathering the infrastructure and suppliers you need to make your dream a reality, as well as designing a flow for the day that means your guests get to feel just as at home as you are.

Things to consider when hiring our sailcloth marquee
Space and Dimensions
Our tent configurations range from 14m up to 26m in length, with all of them sitting 14m wide. Beyond this, there must be 2 metres of clearance around the entire perimeter for guide ropes and stakes, plus it's always worth having additional space for guests and staff to walk around the outside, or vehicles to access. Be mindful of low-hanging tree branches, flower-beds and water features, as these can all have an impact on positioning.
Ground conditions
Whilst a Parlour sailcloth marquee might be the foundation to build your wedding on, we need a solid foundation ourselves! Our marquee works best in gardens that are flat and level (some undulating ground can usually be accommodated); the ground should also be well-draining and there should be no utilities like electricity or gas running directly below, as our stakes can go as deep as 3 feet below the surface.
Access and Logistics
How easy your site is to access will directly impact your fee estimates from a variety of different suppliers, here are some of the key things we'll always look for when we visit a client's venue:
-
Low bridges on nearby roads
-
Locked gates/ key entry systems
-
Livestock
-
Areas that are muddy/boggy
-
Narrow turning points or one-way roads
Power and Amenities
The sailcloth tent is just one part of your wedding day; in order to build a complete event site you also need to consider where other infrastructure will sit. The generator, toilets, showers (if you're having guest camping) and catering tent will all need somewhere to go without intruding on the view of the marquee, whilst being accessible for your guests and suppliers. Our team is always happy to advise on where to place these other key elements during your site visit.
Aesthetics
What is the backdrop that your marquee will be framed by? What view will your wedding guests have out from the side of the sailcloth? When considering the positioning, you also want to consider what will be in view throughout your wedding day, both from the outside looking in and the inside looking out. With our experience in wedding planning, we're always happy to advise our clients on the best solution to placement that is not only practical, but beautiful too.
